Laura A. R. Clary
ALA, NCARB, LEED-AP Principal
Laura has developed a solid reputation for her ability to solve complex planning problems and is known for her interest in the integration of new and emerging technologies. Laura has served as a juror, project advisor and adjunct professor at Lawrence Technological University. In addition to participating on several academic committees, she was also a member of the technology focus group for Project Kaleidoscope.
Laura is an architect and founding principal of iDesign having extensive experience in both pre-design planning and architectural design. She has been involved in a great number of projects focused on the science and technology market. Her laboratory consulting has included educational, medical, government and commercial clients in the areas of biology, limnology, radio-pharmaceutical, medical treatment, wet laboratories and related facilities. Laura is a nationally recognized laboratory planner and has several lectures, books and articles to her credit. In 2004, she served as a juror for the Lab of the Year competition sponsored by R&D Magazine.
Laura received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University, magna cum laude, and a Master's Degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois U-C, including gradute studies at the Beckman Institute, which is a leader in multi-disciplinary collaborative research. In December of 2003, Laura achieved LEED-accreditation with U.S. Green Building Council. She has closely followed the development of the LEED for Lab initiative for which one of her projects was identified by the committee as pilot project candidate.
